Analysis Logo - Pixar

Pixar is a company famous for its animation children films they are responsible for brilliant children’s films such as: Up, Toy story, Finding Nemo, WALL-E and many more.

The logos baby blue connotes that it is peaceful and relaxed as blue is a colour commonly associated with tranquillity. The shade of blue also connotes innocence and immediately sets this a company advertising to children, as you wouldn’t expect this type of colouring to be on a logo for a company that only made horror films for example.

The animation of the desk lamp is very cute and gives a sweet innocent feel this is down to both the noise it makes and the way it’s animated to move this targets the audience of children well as it is interesting but not overly complicated.

The typography of the words Pixar is very clear and easy to see yet is still not bold and boring. The sharpness of the lettering suggests that despite the “cute” animations the baby blue background and the childish feel the company is still a serious company that wishes to be regarded as such. That said though the text still appears inviting and warmer then other company logos.

Still despite the fact that Pixar is a one type of film company they have made alterations to the logo for certain films to better involve the actual film itself. The best example is the one created for film WALL-E this added the main star of the film to the logo in a interesting way without alluding from the original design that has been used for years.

  1. In terms of your analysis of production/distribution company logos, you have currently shown proficient research into similar products. What you need to do to improve this is use more media terminology, link your points back to target audience and explain how you are going to use what you have observed in your own work.
